Mike gets married!

After only a three month courtship and a six month engagement, my brother Mike married the love of his life, Minji, today. We are so happy for them and wish them a lifetime of happiness.

Rehearsal

Almost everyone arrived a tad bit late for rehearsal at 4 PM this afternoon because traffic was awful, no surprise though, this is California. We ran through the program twice and Lydia did quite well. Too bad Jason, my nephew and the ringbearer, was not able to attend, or else it would have been better rehearsed. Dinner was at Sam Woo Chinese Restaurant where we dined on Peking duck, crab, lamb chops, and much much more. This is also my last official day on the diet, though it sure didn't seem like it at the rate I was inhaling the food.

Minji's Bachelorette Party

After picking up my parents from the airport at 2:30ish, we drove over to Mike's place for my parents to rest and for my Dad to try on his tuxedo. Then we had dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant with Aunt Monica, my Dad's sister and Mike's employer. Thankfully, we hit little traffic and were able to make it back home at a decent hour. From there, I left the kids with my parents (Trung had a farewell party to attend) and headed off to Hollywood for a night of fun. Please keep in mind that these pictures were filtered...many times. :P

Lydia's performance

We attended Lydia's end of the year celebration where she performed two songs with her classmates. She has certainly improved since her last performance last year in Texas and actually sang parts of the songs. I can't believe school is almost over; it sure was fun and we've made some wonderful friends.

The Monte Carlo Experience

I found out Selena Gomez was rescheduled to sing at Santa Monica Place on Monday as I was shopping for new pants Saturday. Apparently, she had some kind of food poisoning, so she couldn't perform on Friday. Lucky me, I wouldn't have missed out! So, after Lydia's friends left our place for a play date, we walked over to Santa Monica Place to wait for an hour and the listen to Selena sing two songs. Was it worth it? Sure! Another celebrity on my list and the girls' first "concert". :)

Check out all the phones, cameras, and camcorders

Selena is actually a pretty good singer

Something you don't get to see very often

During our late morning jog, Trung, the girls, and I got to watch dolphins swimming along the coast. At first I thought that they were surfers since a training class was in session just a little further down, but after watching for a few seconds, you could totally tell that they were dolphins. Very cool!

Sports Class Pros

After eight weeks, the girls have become pros at their sports class. I am so sad that it is ending now that the kids have finally become comfortable.

Sophie's pals

Sophie and I had to leave early from her Mommy & me class today and it was the first time for me to see all the little kids having lunch by themselves. We have been attending the class since September, but Sophie has never needed me to help her since the other teachers are around, so I never noticed how cute the little kids are before.

One for One

A few mommies and I attended the "Next Chapter of One for One" TOMS event today. Snow and I arrived early to watch Blake reveal TOMS new product...sunglasses! Then we got complimentary cake pops, smoothies, and ice cream. After picking up Lydia, we had lunch at Urth Caffe and then resumed with the festivities. We stood in line (forever) for t-shirts of our own design as the kids played with bubbles. The girls were exhausted and slept the entire way home as I ran along the beach path. Oh how I love living here!

The great reveal!

The Pettersen family photo shoot

Our good friends Trond and Guro are expecting their second child in a few shorts weeks and wanted to take family pictures on the beach before the baby came. Trung offered to take them and we all hit the beach this evening. We got some family pics as well while we were all already out there. Everyone had a great time and the kids were all cooperative!
