The fish weekend finally arrived and Tom delivered several chunks of sashimi grade tuna right to my home on Saturday for all my friends and myself to enjoy.  The first day we ate the tuna sashimi style, but the next couple of days, we changed things up a bit.

A couple of the girls' friends joined us to watch the movie Zootopia today and afterwards we went to Hummus Bar for lunch.  The plate special is such a great deal and can easily feed an adult and child, but the laffa, now that's the main star.  The laffas are gigantic and delicious!

Swim Meet

Lydia's had her first swim meet for the spring session and several of her school classmates came this time.  Meets are definitely more fun when you have a whole slew of people cheering you on.

Sushi, it's what's for dinner

In preparation for the sashimi grade tuna delivery this weekend, Trung and I have been practicing our rolling skills.  We managed to get spicy, chopped scallops and masago sushi to stand up; and put together unagi sushi.  Fortuanately, the seaweed and octopus was purchased ready to eat and the salmon just needed to get cut into sashimi sized pieces.  We are ready for the tuna!

 I suddenly had a craving for sushi, so I picked up ingredients at our local Japanese market and set to work.  The girls always order California rolls at restaurants, so they were very pleased with my sudden interest.  Here are my creations...

Lydia auditioned today for Grandma's Cookies with an extremely tall guy (the one in the navy shirt) that I had to take a picture.  She later got her very first callback, but unfortunately didn't book the job.
